In the near future, Autonomous Vehicles, IoT devices (e.g. connected fridges or environment sensors), and AI-powered experiences will be the norm. But new infrastructure is required to power it all.

In this role

As part of the key management team, you will help drive our growth by providing financial and operational expertise to all teams within the business. Our ambitious plans means we think we on our feet, have plenty of determination, and deliver on what we promise our customers.  You will get to play an instrumental part in how we rapidly scale the business in an agile and sustainable way, and be instrumental in future funding rounds, 

Day to day your role will include:

  • Partner closely with the other executive staff to drive business results to targets.

  • Act as an interface between our investors and the executive team.

  • Preparation of budgets and business plans for the business.

  • Monthly presentation of financial performance, forecasts and budget variances including understanding financial opportunities and risk.

  • Manage the financial controlling team to ensure accurate and timely information.

  • Challenge current ways of working, driving efficiencies revenue/margin generation and cost savings wherever possible.

  • Lead the business analytics and intelligence for the business, ensuring we can make informed decisions quickly and optimise frequently.

  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.

  • Participate in operations reviews to ensure both short-term budgets and long-term plans are on track

  • Providing proactive input into contract negotiations and contract decision making.

  • Managing cash flow, spend, budgets and overseeing all financial operations.

  • Help ensure compliance and business processes are followed.

Requirements

The skills needed:

  • A fully qualified accountant with 10+ years PQE would be superb.

  • Practical experience of operating at a senior level within a business with senior leaders, providing both commercial and financial support/expertise.

  • Superior communication & exceptional people skills.

  • High energy, ambition and entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Ability to identify, hire, and develop new talent.

  • A proven track record of process improvement and experience with financial systems and process change initiatives

  • A highly metrics-driven individual with a strong analytical abilities

  • Demonstrated track record of attention to detail, time management and prioritization skills.

  • You enjoy the challenge of working in a high growth startup, and are happy to roll up your sleeves as necessary.

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience contributing to the fast growth of a company.

  • Experienced and collaborative leader. 

  • Experience running compliance programmes such as ISO 27001/9001 or SOC I/II.

  • Knowledge of relevant statutory legislation and regulatory frameworks including GDPR, HIPAA, etc

  • Experience with legal, HR and people matters.

  • Bonus: 

    • You’ve worked at a marketing-led subscription or cloud technology business

    • You have relevant technical knowledge.
